Learn about current research into the diversity of our natural world.
The Museum houses an incredible collection of over 7 million objects from nature. It is also a place of work for people who research our natural world. Through a packed programme of events, exhibitions, and activities we share this research with our visitors.
The Museum is also proud to highlight research from the wider University and other organisations. Since 2015, the Museum has hosted the popular family science fair Super Science Saturday. In November and March each year, researchers take over the Museum for a Saturday and share their exciting work through fun activities for all the family. These activities also show how a wide variety of people from many organisations work together to protect our planet and conserve the natural world in many different ways.
In case you missed our most recent Super Science Saturday, we have a range of online activities that you can get involved in. In each section below, you will find out about a different area of science, the people who are doing this research, and be able try out an activity. (Activities are designed for children 8 years old and over).
Thanks to all of the researchers who have given their time and ideas to create these family resources with the Museum!
