Local tracking expert Bob Cowley will introduce you to 30 Tracks and Signs, equipping you with the necessary skills to identify the presence of 15 of our local mammal species. Bob has carefully chosen these particular signs because they cannot be confused with anything else in our local environment, so you will be able to apply your new knowledge immediately, and every time you go for a walk. In this way, this talk will open your eyes to the endlessly intriguing world of Tracks and Signs.
About the speaker
Bob Cowley is Vice Chair of Oxfordshire Mammal Group, but his particular passion is studying the Tracks and Signs that animals leave behind. He is now one of the few 'Level 3 Trackers' in Europe, having been certified at that level in both the tracking disciplines, 'Track & Sign' and 'Trailing'. Bob’s One-day Track and Sign Courses at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History have proved incredibly popular, selling out every year. But as well as being a leading trainer for the UK Mammal Society, Bob is always in demand to lead workshops for a variety of other local and national organisations, such as the Field Studies Council and the British Ecological Society.
