The Mammals of Borneo
From Proboscis Monkeys to Pygmy Elephants, Borneo is home to an amazing range of mammals. Join Shavez Cheema, founder of conservation group 1StopBorneo Wildlife, to hear about some of this diversity and the ongoing efforts to conserve it.
Shavez leads the Reforestation projects of the group and develops wildlife tourism projects for the local community so they can have a sustainable future to save the wildlife. His research focused on the favourite food of mammals by working on the ficus fruits. He leads specialised mammal watching trips on Borneo to sustain the organization's efforts to save the flora and fauna. He has written many field guides, notably the Field Guide to Tawau Hills Park, Pocket Guide to Mammals of Borneo and the current launch of the Borneo Nature Travel Guide.
Doors open 18.45.
