The Museum holds a small collection of non-specimen objects, primarily historic scientific equipment. Unfortunately most of this collection has not been catalogued. The collection includes early microscopes, historic entomological equipment and teaching aids used in 19th and 20th century geological and zoological lectures. We also hold a collection of Blaskha models managed by the Museum’s zoological collections staff.
These delicate models were created by Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka, Czech artists who specialised in glasswork and ran a business spanning 300 years and nine generations.
