Rob Salguero-Gómez’s research seeks to understand how plants and animals respond to environmental change by combining ecological theory, field experiments, big data, and quantitative modelling. He leads the Salgo Team, whose work spans ecological resilience, the evolution of ageing, novel biodiversity monitoring techniques, and the impacts of climate change on species worldwide. Rob has developed and leads several international collaborative initiatives that bring together demographic data from thousands of species to address fundamental questions in ecology and evolution. He is committed to interdisciplinary research, mentoring the next generation of scientists, and strengthening connections between science, conservation, and society. As a member of the Museum of Natural History’s Board of Visitors, he looks forward to supporting the Museum’s mission in research, education, and public engagement.
