Sarah worked as the Museum's IT manager for over 20 years. She managed the Museum’s first large-scale electronic specimen cataloguing project, and oversaw other cataloguing and web development projects. The Learning Zone website, dedicated to providing accessible scientific resources for schools, has proved popular with teachers in the UK and abroad.
In 2002 Sarah setup the first webcam on the swifts nesting in the Museum tower, and she works with ornithologists to monitor the swifts during the breeding season. The livestreams of the nesting birds attract an enthusiastic international audience.
