Weddings at the Museum of Natural History

Celebrate your wedding reception under the dinosaurs!

The Museum of Natural History provides a beautiful backdrop for a wedding reception with dramatic wrought iron decoration, tiled glass ceiling, and fascinating specimens from the natural world. The entire Museum is yours for the evening; and with science, history, and beauty effortlessly merged in this unique venue, your guests are guaranteed the ‘wow’ factor for an unforgettable evening. Our dedicated events team at the Museum will work with you to create a wonderful event tailored to reflect your tastes and personalities.
From summer 2022, the gorgeously decorated Westwood Room will be available for daytime wedding ceremonies of up to 60 people. This newly-restored historic space is tucked away behind the displays of the Upper Gallery, and offers an intimate and unique venue for your ceremony.

You have the freedom to roam the Museum for the duration of your reception, and we are very happy to work with you to come up with interesting ways that you can use the gallery spaces. A popular itinerary for the evening is:

  • Welcome drinks with the dinosaurs in the South Court
  • Seated dinner and speeches under the T-rex in the Main Court or on the Upper Gallery with gorgeous views of the wrought-iron roof decoration
  • Cake cutting and dancing in the North Court with the skeleton parade as a backdrop
