Climate Justice: Museum Late Night

Enjoy the Museum of Natural History and Pitt Rivers at night and meet researchers, activists, academics and NGOs for pop-up talks, craft activities, games, tours, poetry, film and much more to find out about climate change, biodiversity loss, social justice and how we can all be part of a better future for our planet.

This event is held in association with the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Summit, as part of the Oxford Local Programme of events themed around climate change, human rights, and climate justice.

  • Professor Friederike Otto, pioneer in the field of climate attribution science, presents her new book Climate Injustice.
  • Researcher Akosua Paries-Osei (Seditious Seeds of Forbidden Flowers) in conversation with writer Yvonne John (The Echoes of (M)otherhood).
  • Poetry by geography researcher and poet Zoe Brown.
  • Spoken word with local poets Andrew AJ Jones and Rawz.
  • Songs from climate theatre show Chrissie and the Skiddle Witch by Geologise Theatre.
  • Parade of Grandfather Thames and the Oxford Climate Choir.
  • Stalls by local conservation groups including EarthWatch Oxford, River Action, Friends of the Thames and others.
  • Researchers Sam Hampton and Tina Fawcett share an activity on climate leadership.
  • Local Green initiatives with Low Carbon Oxford, The Cherwell Collective, One Planet Abingdon, Hogacre Ecopark.
  • Art therapy for Eco-anxiety with artist Helen Edwards.
  • Deep Sea Empathy workshop - become a deep sea citizen scientist with Noemi Duroux.
  • Climate games and crafts with Linda Wystemp, Robin Hutchinson, Leoni Biggenden and Eliza Mogollon Perez.
  • Museum tours with Uncomfortable Oxford Histories and Museum of Climate Hope.
